History and development
AutoCAD was initially intended to be a simple and easy to use 2D drafting tool. It originally lacked many features and user interface, as well as the ability to work in 3D. However, AutoCAD went on to evolve into a full-featured CAD system capable of handling most types of drawings, including drafting, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings. In the 1970s, AutoCAD became a requirement for all but a few graphics-intensive manufacturers, allowing them to outsource their mechanical and electrical drafting to the companies that developed and used AutoCAD, reducing their operating costs.
The first version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD 1.0, was released in 1982, and was available for the Commodore PET, IBM PC, and Apple II personal computers. The first version of AutoCAD used the Apple II’s Apple Graphics System (AGS) or HiRes graphics engine for plotting and rendering. It ran on a low-resolution Tandy TRS-80 Model I computer with the 512K Macintosh SE/30A and 128K Apple II. The Mac version was released in 1984, and the Apple II version in 1985. Later, the Apple II version was upgraded to 8k graphics by removing AGS.
Apple announced AutoCAD for the Macintosh in January 1983, and it was released that summer. The Macintosh version’s improved graphics and ability to work with the Macintosh’s built-in vector graphics system, including direct access to the bitmap layers, made it the most advanced CAD program at the time. Apple announced its intention to port the AutoCAD to other personal computer operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and Unix in February 1984, before announcing Windows support in July 1984.
Software developer Autodesk released AutoCAD for the Microsoft Windows platform in November 1985. Unlike the Macintosh and Apple II versions, the Windows version did not originally include the drawing tools and modules that were written for the Apple II. However, the two versions of AutoCAD shared many of the same functions and symbols, such as the plans panel, which was at the bottom of the screen when the Apple II version was launched. The last AutoCAD version for the Apple II platform was AutoCAD 2.1 for Macintosh, which was released in 1991.
In 1986, the System 150, a commercially licensed version of the Apple Macintosh, was released, enabling the Mac version of AutoCAD to utilize the built-in SuperVGA graphics card for

AutoCAD 2011 software
AutoCAD V17.3, the release that preceded 2011, was software Version 17.3. As of 2018, the latest release of AutoCAD is the 2017 product, which is based on Version 20.
AutoCAD 2010
AutoCAD 2010 was released on September 15, 2009, with the version number of 20.2. In the press release, Autodesk was comparing AutoCAD 2010 to AutoCAD 2002. Some of the upgrades of AutoCAD 2010 include:
Support for the de facto industry standard XML 2D drawing format, dxf. The long-running rival format to AutoCAD’s native dxf format (which never had proper full XML support) dxf by MicroStation, another Autodesk product (since 2006), was re-released as AutoCAD DXF in 2012.
A new version of the drawing viewer, the drawing window, allowing for single page viewing of drawings.
Enhanced support for 3D modeling with better Auto-Exposure technology for added control over lights and camera, and support for 3D SketchUp model import. This was the first AutoCAD release to include a native 3D program. AutoCAD 2003 had a 3D Sketcher add-on that allowed importing 3D SketchUp files. However, this add-on was not available in AutoCAD 2004.
Ability to print, bind or combine up to ten drawings into one PDF, creating a single document.
Ability to create RDF files, allowing the creation of semantic web applications.
These features were introduced in several product upgrades prior to AutoCAD 2010, including:
2009: multi-page design and marking tools
2008: annotation tools
2007: 3D drafting with 3D sketching
AutoCAD 2010 became the first release of AutoCAD that is officially a 64-bit product. It is now also the first release of AutoCAD to offer native 3D.
Autodesk had made AutoCAD 2001 the first 32-bit Auto

How to stop the animation of multiple node
I have a cluster with some nodes and I would like to build an animation of the whole cluster. My problem is that the animation of the cluster of nodes takes a little time to be completed and it is not possible to “play” multiple nodes at once. It works fine when I start one node and then I “Play” it, but when I start multiple nodes, there is not animation of all nodes at once.
How can I do it?
EDIT:
My problem was that I was not using the same view. I was working on a view of a big scene and when I start many nodes, the animation was taking more time than the animation of a big scene.
A:
You can see the documentation on the Timeline at It has several functions to play the whole timeline, or a part of it. This is the code for the operation play() from the documentation:
# play() begins an animation from a specified state.
#
# This function is somewhat special because it doesn’t only play back, it
# also plays forwards. The state is the initial state to start from.
#
# Start from the state and play it forwards in time. Optionally add or subtract
# the specified number of frames from the end frame.
#
# Params:
# * duration: The duration of the animation. The default value is the
# current time. Use -1 to play it infinitely.
# * end: The frame when to stop the animation (zero-based).
# * steps: The number of frames to add to the end, if not -1.
# * sub_steps: The number of frames to add to the end, if not -1.
# * speed: The speed of the animation, a positive value will increase
# the speed, a negative

When it comes to SAP Business Objects there are many facets of the system which you need to be aware of, one of which is the SAP Business Objects Performance Pack. This is a package that allows the optimisation of the database within the SAP system. Many business users of SAP Business Objects have never heard of this, so it is worth giving a quick explanation on what this package is, why it is so important and how you can make use of it.
What is the SAP Business Objects Performance Pack?
The SAP Business Objects Performance Pack is an administration pack that allows the optimisation of the database that holds the SAP Business Objects system. This pack contains two main tools: the Database Designer and the PPR Packager.
The Database Designer allows the application of database optimisation to the database within SAP Business Objects and has its main function in determining which objects to cache and how to put them to use. The second packager tool is the Performance Packager. This tool puts the objects that have been determined to be cacheable into the packager for the database optimisation process.
