Fun Fact: There were two “masterful” programmers working in Autodesk’s first CAD team: John Lantz, a top programmer and businessman, and Tom Roloff, a mediocre programmer but a superb salesperson. AutoCAD History

In October 2003, Autodesk introduced a free online version of AutoCAD called AutoCAD Everywhere. This version is available on a wide range of devices, including the iPad and iPad 2, Android devices, Windows mobile phones, and Windows and Macintosh computers. This article will primarily refer to the desktop version of AutoCAD 2010, but the tips and tricks also apply to the mobile and web versions of AutoCAD.

The most useful tool in AutoCAD is the pen. The pen is not only for drawing lines and circles on a drawing canvas, but it also has special features for drawing, erasing, and editing line attributes.

Go to Software\Options menu and choose Autodesk\AutoCAD 2015.
Double-click on the folder and in the opened window go to Patch Manager and update your Software.

Start the program, open the patches and find the patch you want to remove.

Remove the patch, update your patches.
Save and exit.

NOTE: If you want to reinstall Autocad, go to your Autodesk Autocad installation folder and delete all files. Copy the Autocad folder from the software cd.
Autocad will be installed from the cd.
Open the Autocad.bat file and change the parameters to fit your Autocad version.
Save the Autocad.bat file and close it.
To do the same with AutoCAD you have to open the autocad.bat file located in the folder where you installed it and change the parameters.

Autocad 2014

Go to Software\Options menu and choose Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014.
Double-click on the folder and in the opened window go to Patch Manager and update your Software.

Start the program, open the patches and find the patch you want to remove.

Remove the patch, update your patches.
Save and exit.

Autocad 2013

Go to Software\Options menu and choose Autodesk\AutoCAD 2013.
Double-click on the folder and in the opened window go to Patch Manager and update your Software.

Start the program, open the patches and find the patch you want to remove.

New Blog

Like a lot of my blogging, it’s taken me awhile to get around to this. Life got in the way and I’ve been working like crazy to keep up my end of things. Now I’m just giving myself a break and finally taking the time to blog.

I’ve decided to switch to a new blog. Why not have some fun and do something a bit different? Just like my photos – they’ll take a little time to get up and running.

I’ll give you all a heads up that the current blog will be archived and my new blog will become the current blog. Don’t worry, I’ve got a new system and I’m working on uploading the photos. It’ll be up to date

Edit tool enhancements:

Edit tools have been refreshed to work in more familiar ways.

The edit tooltip has been updated to use a new user interface.

The select window, edit window, and menu flyout now use a new user interface.

The Edit Window and Menu Flyout have been completely overhauled, and allow greater editing flexibility and visual clarity for CAD users.

The select window is optimized for use with alphanumeric text, improving its efficiency and legibility.

You can now add new objects into groups or layers, or edit existing groups or layers by simply clicking on them in the drawing or on the Layers dialog box.

You can now work with layers by using a new visual representation.

You can add multiple layers, or select any set of layers for editing.

You can now access previous, or later objects in a document by using a new timeline navigation panel in the Layers dialog box.

You can now turn layers on and off, or modify their status, from the Layers dialog box.

The Add Layer icon, which was previously reserved for drawing objects, can now be used to add layers, groups, and drawings to the current drawing or open new drawings.
