To start with the basics, the battle system in ELDEN RING will be classified into two systems. These two battle systems are that of Real-Time System and Turn-Based System.

In the Real-Time System, in order to execute various actions within the battle that start from critical attacks to retreating, you have to wait in line in a queue system that corresponds to your class. The shortest wait time is for the Attack Action, the second shortest is for the regular action, and the longest is for the Magic Attack. Your experience level, equipped gear, weapon type, action type, and so on will differ for each battle, thus changing the waiting time.

In the Turn-Based System, in a moment of your choice you can decide whether to perform an action, fight the enemy in your party, or retreat. During this time, your character will be able to be attacked and damage is allocated.

~Real-Time System

In the Real-Time System, there are eight classes (except the Key Rogue) of which you can freely combine weapons, and equipped equipment, weapon type, action, and classes as you want.
