Executing a javascript function in a modal window to clear value in a textbox
I have a simple html code with a button that opens a simple modal window. The code looks like this:
$(‘#window’).on(‘shown.bs.modal’, function() {
$(‘#field’).val(0);
});
$(‘#window button’).on(‘click’,function(){
$(‘#field’).val(0);
window.open(‘about:blank’, ‘window’, ‘width=400,height=400’)
});
I would like to use javascript to clear a value in a textbox that I have before opening the window. I have tried many options, like this:
$(‘#field’).val(0);
window.open(‘about:blank’, ‘window’, ‘width=400,height=400’)
$(document).ready(function(){
window.open(‘about:blank’, ‘window’, ‘width=400,height=400’)
$(‘#field’).val(0);
});
But it does not work. How can I make this happen?

The modal should be removed before opening a new one.
