We felt that “Tarnished Sunrise” would make for a strong impression if only we could somehow introduce the music to the player. The game was introduced to the world as Tarnished Sunrise: the main character was called Argyle and he was a young man pursuing a rich young lady named Neila, and his main goal was to find the last remaining “Zeta”—an extremely powerful magical being that helped maintain the balance of the world. We even remember that the song that was playing in that room, which became the main melody of “Tarnished Sunrise,” was called “Chaos Dragon.” It seemed like everyone was looking to it as a harbinger of a new future for the game. However, we had no way of knowing that the development of “Tarnished Sunrise” itself was going to take off.
