Image editors are programs that enable you to manipulate images after you’ve loaded them into the editor. Adobe Photoshop is an enormously powerful image editor, but it is also the costliest. Do you need a powerful image editor? Not always, and if you’re a graphic artist, many of the features of Photoshop can be had for free. However, they are no match for Photoshop in terms of features or capabilities. Each of the features listed in the following section are commonly available in free programs. In Chapter 21, “Understanding and Creating Images,” we’ve included samples of some of these programs and their common features.

* **Adobe PhotoShop Elements:** This is the newest version of the Adobe Photoshop. It’s a new, free, beginner-friendly image-editing program. It’s aimed at designers and artists who want to produce high-quality output. Here are a few more details about it:

• Elements is a program that enables you to open, edit, modify, and save multiple images with a variety of settings. It has a trial version for you to download and use, or you can purchase a license. If you decide that you like the program, you can purchase a license.

How to use Photoshop

The following steps take you through the basic process for creating high-quality images:

Start Photoshop by clicking the new window icon or the Start Photoshop icon located in the Start menu, and open a blank file.

Or click on the Photoshop icon at the taskbar and click on the new file icon.

Click on the new page icon, which is located at the bottom left of the window.

Type an alias in the Alias box and click the Align New Image button. For more information about aliases, see Using Photoshop and Photoshop Elements aliases.

Type a descriptive name for the file in the New Image Title box, and click on the Start Photoshop button in the lower right corner.

Hit the OK button to open the new image.

If necessary, you can use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select the desired area and crop the image.

To load a photo, click on the dialog box that appears and select Load button.

To open an image, click on the File icon in the dialog box.

Use the Free Transform and Scale (Ctrl+T) to resize the image or the Crop tool to crop it.

You can use the Flatten Image command in the Image menu to straighten out a background.

Find the Adjustments panel and click on the presets that apply to your image to change them.

To start drawing, hold down the Shift key, and press the A key to access the Brush Tool.
While drawing, hold down the Alt key to create a symbol. It’s a great timesaver, since you don’t have to create the symbol from scratch.

Photoshop comes with a large selection of fonts that you can use to create new documents or to add text to existing documents. You can save these fonts as bitmap files so that you can reuse them later.
For a more realistic, detailed effect, use the Pen tool. To do so, go to Select > Select Similar, and choose Pencil.
You can apply a Gaussian blur to an image. To do so, go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, and make sure that Radial Blur is selected.
You can combine the Red Eye Removal effect with the Gaussian Blur filter.
You can also put selected portions of an image into a selection. To do this, go to Select > Modify > Expand.
You can crop images from larger ones. To do so, go to Image > Crop.

How to make this simple drop down menu responsive?

I was trying to figure out how to make a simple drop down menu responsive.
the idea was to have a template that covers the entire width and then a smaller portion of the template to be hidden when you click on it.
Currently, this is what I have. Its an AngularJS application. I wanted to try it out with plain HTML+CSS, so that it is free of JS.
Please tell me how I can make the drop down menu responsive.
