The results of the study indicated that Leu-Cys5 can act as a mucoadhesive polymer. Furthermore, the prepared NPs were spherical in shape, with a fairly uniform size distribution and exhibited a positive charge. The drug entrapment efficiency of the NPs was up to 87%, and approximately 90% of the drug was released from the NPs during the in vitro release study. The cytotoxicity test showed that this formulation was safe. The nasal absorption study revealed that the permeation coefficient (K(p)) of leuprorelin acetate was 3.33-fold and 8.04-fold higher than for conventional leuprorelin acetate solution and leuprorelin acetate microparticles (MP), respectively, indicating that NPs are promising carriers for the nasal delivery of leuprorelin acetate.Q:
