The KeyInfo application was developed to be an auxiliary utility for developers. It retrieves information generated by Windows under pressed / depressed keys.
Such information may include messages sent by Windows, virtual key code, OEM scan code, etc. The program activation / deactivation may be carried out by pressing the “system-wide” hotkey (Ctrl-F12) from any application.

This information was originally retrieved using a specialized hardware version of KeyInfo. Since the hardware KeyInfo version is now obsolete and is discontinued, the software Version of KeyInfo was developed to make KeyInfo available to others.

The program may be used to get information (like scan codes) about any key from any application on any Windows system!

Using keyboard hotkeys:
1. Create a new hotkey: Enter a hotkey and press Shift+F12.
2. To get the information about pressed key: Ctrl+Shift+F12.
3. To delete the hotkey: Enter a hotkey and press Shift+F12, then delete it.
4. To get the information about pressed key: Ctrl+Shift+F12.
5. To get the information about pressed key, the key information will be automatically released (if there are no modifier keys pressed)
6. To get the information about released key (with modifier keys pressed):
Case 1: Ctrl+Shift+F12.
Case 2: Ctrl+Shift+F12, then hold the control key and release the shift key.
7. To kill the hotkey:
Case 1: Ctrl+Shift+F12.
Case 2: Ctrl+Shift+F12, then hold the control key and release the shift key.
8. To get the information about released key (with modifier keys pressed):
Case 1: Ctrl+Shift+F12.
Case 2: Ctrl+Shift+F12, then hold the control key and release the shift key.

KeyInfo will retrieve keystroke information under the following conditions.
Key information is retrieved if the hotkey is pressed or depressed and no other key is pressed during that time.
Key information is NOT retrieved if the hotkey is pressed / depressed and another hotkey is pressed / depressed during the above time.
All other hotkeys except [Ctrl-] key are set up to be just another user/application.

This hotkey will be activated if the user has pressed Ctrl-F12 at least one time, while another hotkey is NOT pressed at the same time.
