The second part is about how to use the most common features of Photoshop Elements and how to tweak its interface to make it work better for you.
In this article, I will teach you how to use Photoshop Elements to create new images and edit existing ones.
How to edit images in Photoshop Elements
This section explains the two main ways to edit an image in Elements:
Selecting a regular layer and then editing it, or
Selecting a layer and then, in the Layers palette, deselecting it
Choosing one of these methods is not mandatory, but they have their advantages.
For instance, a regular layer is editable. But if you have a layer that contains a texture that you want to preserve, you can make it a regular layer.
Or if you have a layer that contains a large area of a photo that you do not want to work on, you can deselect it.
The Layer palette makes it easy to choose which layers are editable, which layers are frozen and which are groups. Groups are like folders within a layer. For example, if you have a text layer, you can create a new layer, and then create a folder with the name (e.g. “Headlines”). Then you can create a new layer inside this folder and create text, images, etc.
After knowing how to select a layer, this article explains the most common ways to edit the different parts of an image using the different tools provided by Photoshop Elements.
Manipulate the foreground and background colors
If you want to modify the colors of your image, you can do so in several ways.
In the menu File > Adjust > Color, you can easily modify both the foreground and background colors in your image. Here, you can click on the little circle buttons to enter the HEX, RGB or CMYK color palettes and then change the color as desired.
If you want to change the opacity of an image, it is also possible in this tool.
Grow or shrink an image

Refactoring a TensorFlow model to minimize the code volume
I’m trying to refactor a TensorFlow model from the code base of an old project which has multiple issues with its code quality. Among those, one of the biggest problems is it uses a lot of variable names in the code. I have successfully minimized a lot of these name conflicts by following this answer.
However, I’m facing a problem trying to minimize all the names conflicts in the model I’m refactoring. I’m looking for a way to rename all the variables and parameters of the model in order to make it as concise as possible.
My research so far lead me to use the tf.function() refactoring. Therefore, I’ve built a string form of my code along with every variable name in it. I’ve tried the TensorFlow model directory that has about 80 files.
To use the tf.function(), I’ve used this command:

CD4+ T-cell function and viral burden in HCV-mono-infected patients taking interferon.
T-cell function was measured in patients infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) with well-defined virological and histological features. The effects of interferon (IFN) therapy on CD4+ T-cell function were assessed in patients receiving no therapy and in patients treated with IFN alone and in combination with ribavirin. Significantly reduced T-cell responses were seen in all patients with HCV before therapy in the absence of liver disease. The functional responses of CD4+ T cells were poorly correlated with CD4+ T-cell counts or the cytokines interleukin-2 or interferon-gamma produced in response to stimulation with an HCV epitope. IFN therapy improved the proliferative response and IL-2 production of the CD4+ T cells of the responding patients. Moreover, the IFN-induced increases in proliferation and IL-2 production were associated with a decrease in HCV RNA in the serum and the associated decrease in serum transaminases. These findings suggest that a defect in cellular immunity may contribute to the pathogenesis of HCV-induced liver damage and that restoration of T-cell function by IFN therapy may be an important therapeutic mechanism of action in patients with HCV.
