In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to become a Photoshop expert.
We will be using Photoshop CS2. If you’re not sure what version you have, click on the Photoshop button in your System Preferences. Then click on About Photoshop. On the About Adobe Photoshop Window, check the System Requirements box, if it isn’t already checked. Once your requirements are met, Photoshop should open automatically.
Every Photoshop tutorial will be conducted in a similar fashion. So if you have completed Photoshop tutorials elsewhere, you’ll know the basic steps well.
Step 1. Open Photoshop CS2
Photoshop CS2, like Photoshop CS1, comes as a single file package (usually named Photoshop CS2). It should open automatically if you have downloaded it from Adobe. Also, if you purchased it as part of a Creative Suite, it’ll open as that application.
Once Photoshop CS2 opens, launch it and turn it to the active Window. This can be done by clicking on Photoshop’s icon on the Dock. Photoshop CS2 will be the name of the window you see there.
Step 2. Open a New Project
Whenever you start a new project, Photoshop CS2 will ask if you want to make it the active image. If you choose Yes, choose a folder on your desktop that’s where you’d like to save your new files. Click the OK button, and Photoshop CS2 will open a new document that you can work on.

Step 3. Create a New Layer
This step is optional, but is recommended. Once your new project is open, you need to create a new layer. Each layer has its own unique color, design pattern, transparency and so on. When an image contains several layers, it’s easier to work on multiple layers. If an image contains only one layer, there’s more risk that something will be altered accidentally.
To add a new layer, click on Layer in the Layers panel on the left side of the window. Then press the space bar until a list of the available Layers appears. From there, select New. Your screen will look something like this.

Step 1: New Project in Photoshop Elements
Your first step is to create a new project using Photoshop Elements.
You can do this by clicking on File > New or going to File > New From Scratch.
Step 2: Add Vector Graphics to Your Project
On the left side of the new project box, you’ll find three tabs:
Design: This tab allows you to add and edit text and graphics. You can create and edit new images, open stock images, and re-arrange art in your project.
File: This tab contains all the different files that are used to build the project.
Video: This tab allows you to create videos. You can make YouTube videos, use recorded videos, or use pre-made videos from the stock library.
Step 3: Select the Location of GIFS from Your Folder
Select the GIFs that you want to include in your project and then go to File > Create Frames from Selected Files.
Step 4: Add Text and Graphics to Your Project
You can create new vectors from scratch using the tools on the top toolbar. However, Photoshop Elements comes with its own library that contains hundreds of free fonts. You can create new text and graphics from the toolbox. You can add text directly from the stock library or import text from a local file.
Step 5: Add Your Vector Graphics
To edit the text, you’ll need to add a layer for that first. Drag the text or the graphic you want to add to the design.
Step 6: Now Use the Tools to Edit Your Vector Graphics
The tools within the toolbox allow you to edit the elements of your graphic.
The Paintbrush tool allows you to fill in and color your graphic. You can use the Brush and Eraser to create a brush or erase the brush strokes. You can apply a color to the brush stroke, use gradients, create a filter, or split the brush stroke into several smaller strokes.
The Gradient tool allows you to create and apply color gradients. Gradients can be created from scratch or from a stock image.
The Live Corners let you move or crop the image.
The Pen tool is used for drawing shapes.
